President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt E.S. Okraku has paid a courtesy call on players and technical team members of the Black Queens at the team’s camping base in Accra, ahead of the reverse fixture against Rwanda.
The Black Queens went rampage on the She Amavubi of Rwanda last week in Kigali, recording a resounding 7:0 victory in the Wowen’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Qualifier first leg.

The president was accompanied by Director of National team’s Department, Alex Asante Sakyi, Women’s ExCo Representative, Habiba Attah Forson and some other staffs of the GFA.
He applauded the effort of the team while assuring them of the unflinching support of the GFA, Government and the football fraternity.
“I will say ayekoo to you for the sacrifices and the good work you are doing towards Ghana . If you are a member of this family, I'm sure you are already proud of yourself. Ghana appreciates you and is proud of what you’re doing and that should be your first line of satisfaction”.
“This mission is to make the Nation great and strong. We want to restore the pride of the country. We want back to the times when Ghana struggled to qualify for the World Cup and Black Queens showed up”.
“This mission is to make the Nation great and strong. We want to restore the pride of the country. We want back to the times when Ghana struggled to qualify for the World Cup and Black Queens showed up”.
"What you see here is a national team made up of a group of ladies who are committed towards our country Ghana . Your FA and the government is committed towards what you’re doing and will continue to support what you’re doing”.

President Okraku reminded the team of the pending mission and admonished them to stay focused and what to do in order to achieve the set mission.
“We have a clear mission to go back to the AFCON and to win an AFCON trophy. I have no doubt we have the right levels of talent to make it all the way but talent alone is not enough”.

“What we need to add to the talent is what collectively led by Coach Nora is doing. Let’s be focused and maintain the good team spirit that we have because that is the only way we can make it”.

The Black Queens will face Rwanda in the second leg fixture of the 2024 WAFCON on Tuesday, September 26,2023, 4:00pm at the Accra Sports Stadium.
