WAFU 2019: Win trophy to get big contracts – Inkoom to Black Stars
Samuel Inkoom, Ghanaian international professional footballer who plays as a defender for Bulgarian First League club Dunav Ruse, has urged Black Stars players in the ongoing West African Football Union Cup (WAFU) tournament to remain focused and win the final game.
He said winning the trophy will propel them for bigger contracts in future.
Ghana defeated Ivory Coast 3-1 to advance to the final of the WAFU Cup of Nations on Tuesday.
Mumuni Shafiu’s hat-trick kept Maxwell Konadu’s men in the competition to defend the title they won on home soil two years ago in Cape Coast.
Speaking in an interview with Kofi Mensah Ocran on Accra Sports, Inkoom said: “I’ll urge them to focus on the game. They can get big contracts that will be more than the bonus they will be given.
“We know that they need money to make ends meet but they should focus on winning the trophy and that will get them big contracts in future.”
