We’ll compete strongly for medals – IGCC

Speaking at a Media Briefing at the Accra Sports Stadium, Head of the IGCC, Professor Peter Twumasi reiterated the target set for Team Ghana.
“In terms of our target, we have come out to say that we want to go with athletes that would be able to come back with something at the end of the day especially those who can compete strongly against their peers since they are most likely to be successful.
“People have said that some of the athletes also need the experience to be able to compete in subsequent editions but I'm sure the nation is making available many other competitions, internal and even external and preparing them so that with time they can also compete at a very high level,” he added.
Team Ghana is currently at Cape Coast preparing ahead of the games. However, disciplines such as Tennis, Judo, Swimming, Badminton and Cycling are training in Accra. The football team, the Black Satellites, are also training at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
