“We’re still in touch with GFA to review disbursement plan” – Tophic Sienu

Division One League Management Committee member, Sheik Tophic Sienu, has urged clubs at that level to exercise patience as the committee continues to engage the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to possibly review the disbursement plan of the FIFA/CAF COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Speaking on Class91.3FM’s sports show, Gameplan, Sheik Tophic Sienu explained that although the division one league had $360,000, the clubs received a fraction of it.
“Because of the number of Division One clubs, we had $7,500 each, which is directly half of what the premier league clubs are getting,” Mr Sienu explained.
According to him, the premier league clubs are 18 in number, unlike the 48 clubs at the Division One level. So, allocating $270,000 to the premier league meant that each club will receive $15,000.
The owner and bankroller of Berekum Arsenal, Alhaji Yakubu Moro, has stressed that clubs in the Division One League deserve at least $10,000 from the FIFA/CAF Covid-19 Relief Fund.
President of New Edubiase Football Club, Abdul Salam Yakubu openly declared that he has rejected the Covid-19 relief package.
Owner of Division One league side, Proud United, Joojo Duncan, believes the GFA is being unfair and is urging Ghana’s football governing body to reconsider its sharing formula of the FIFA/CAF COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Additionally, former GFA Vice President, Fred Pappoe and GHALCA Chairman, Kudjoe Fianoo have all expressed their displeasure through the media. These concerns arose following a post on the GFA website about the disbursement plan.
