World Cup qualifiers: Ghana takes on Madagascar today

The Black Stars of Ghana will today, Friday, 17 November 2023 play their first group match in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The team will take on Madagascar at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi.
Kick off time for the game is at 4pm.
Ghana will be hoping to make a point from that game in order to have a good start.
Ahead of the game, Manager of the Black Stars, Chris Chris Hughton, emphasised his role as head coach is to ensure a win for the team.
“The pressure that I am under as head coach and I am always under is to win football matches," Coach Hughton said.
He stressed that his aim is to ensure a win for Ghana.
“We want to be able to win football matches and score lots of goals and concede none. This is heaven, but we can't always have that.
“What is important is to make sure that we win,” the Black Stars Manager added.
