Ghanaian musician and AMG Business affiliate Showboy has opened up about what he describes as one of the biggest regrets of his career — failing to sign dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale to his record label years ago.

In a candid reflection, Showboy revealed that he had the opportunity to work with Shatta Wale as far back as 2016 but did not follow through with the move.

“I regret not signing Shatta Wale to my record label. I had the opportunity to do so back in 2016,” he admitted.

According to him, his focus at the time was largely on fellow AMG Business frontman Criss Waddle, a decision he now views with mixed feelings.

Showboy explained that although the chance slipped away, the desire to sign the “On God” hitmaker had always been genuine.

He suggested that there is more to the story than many people know and hinted that the full details could eventually come to light.

He added that if Shatta Wale chooses to speak openly about the situation someday, the public will better understand what really happened behind the scenes.

The revelation has since sparked conversations among fans, with many wondering how a partnership between the two outspoken figures might have reshaped Ghana’s dancehall and hip-hop landscape.

Shatta Wale, widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most influential music exports, has built an independent brand over the years, dominating charts and headlines with his consistency and strong fan base, the Shatta Movement.

While the missed opportunity remains a regret for Showboy, fans say the disclosure offers an interesting glimpse into the decisions and turning points that shape careers in the music industry.
