A/R: 2,000 meters procured for Kejetia market traders – Energy Minister

Energy Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has said each shop in the Kumasi Kejetia Market in the Kumasi metropolis of the Ashanti region will be provided with separate meters.
The Manhyia South legislator said about 2,000 meters have already been procured for installation in the market.
The $298 million ultra-modern market with about 8,000 shops has been connected by one bulk meter since it was inaugurated for business in 2021.
Traders in the market have since protested for separate meters.
Addressing the traders in the market when he accompanied Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to visit traders who were displaced as a result of the fire that gutted the market, he promised that each shop in the market will be provided separate meters.
