The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has dismissed as “entirely false” a publication by Asaase Radio alleging that the institution has recorded losses exceeding GHS3 billion in its first year of operations.

In a statement issued on Monday, November 17, 2025, GoldBod described the report as a “deliberately contrived” attempt to undermine the progress and economic contributions the Board has made since its establishment.

According to the statement, the Gold Board has been making “significant surpluses” and remains financially sound.

It added that the institution’s quarterly financial statements—soon to be published on its official website—will confirm its positive performance.

GoldBod urged the public to disregard the publication and called on Asaase Radio to retract the story and issue an unqualified apology for what it termed a misleading and unethical report.

The statement was signed by the Media Relations Unit of the Ghana Gold Board.
