Businessman Ibrahim Mahama-owned Engineers & Planners Company Ltd (E&P) has secured the Black Volta and Sankofa Gold Projects.

The development follows the E&P's acquisition of all shares issued to Azumah Resources Ghana Ltd and Upwest Resources Ltd, two of Ghana's most promising gold concessions.

The transaction was registered with the Registrar of Companies.

With its fiscal strength and technical expertise, E&P is expected to advance the two companies into robust production, create jobs, and transform the economy of the Upper West region and the entire country.

Engineers & Planners was founded in 1997 and is now one of the continent's biggest domestic mining and civil engineering firms, handling large-scale operations.

The Government of Ghana, in 2014, leased the Black Volta and Sankofa concessions.  have long been recognised for their rich reserves but faced years of delays due to financing hurdles.

On their part, Azumah Resources and Upwest Resources Ltd have expressed confidence in E&P competently addressing their challenges and delivering results, adding contendedly that they had prepared the grounds for “a defining new chapter” in Ghana’s mining history.
