Mahama cuts sod for 24-hour economy market in Volta Region
President John Mahama has cut sod for the construction of a 24-hour economy market in the Volta Region, reaffirming his commitment to the development of the region.
Addressing the gathering, President Mahama said the Volta Region would not be denied its fair share of the national cake, stressing that his government is committed to ensuring the region benefits from its development initiatives.
He said the 24-hour economy market forms part of the government's broader programme to promote economic growth across all regions of the country.
According to the President, the project is expected to create employment opportunities and contribute to the successful implementation of the government's 24-hour economy programme.
He urged the contractor, residents, stakeholders and the youth to support those supervising the project to ensure its timely completion.
