MoFA distributes 25,000 bags of fertiliser to boost minor season crop production

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has released 25,000 bags of fertilisers for immediate distribution to 413 schools participating in the Feed Ghana Programme as part of efforts to support Minor Season crop production across the country.
According to a statement from the Ministry, the fertiliser distribution is aimed at enhancing crop yields and strengthening the role of school farms—particularly those managed by Primary, Junior High, and Senior High Schools—in promoting national food and nutrition security.
The Deputy Feed Ghana Coordinator in charge of Institutional Farming has been tasked to oversee the swift delivery of the fertiliser to all beneficiary schools to ensure timely application and maximise productivity during the ongoing planting season.
MoFA emphasised that the initiative aligns with the government’s broader Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda (AETA), which seeks to improve food self-sufficiency, empower young people in agriculture, and ensure sustained agricultural growth.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to supporting schools and farmers with the necessary agricultural inputs, technical guidance, and extension services to achieve long-term food security and economic resilience.
