Starlink announces satellite internet prices

Starlink, the satellite internet service owned by Elon Musk, has announced pricing details for its products in Ghana.
According to the company’s website, the pricing plans include Residential (best for households) starting from GHS 770, Roam (ideal for RVs, nomads, and campers) starting from GHS 1,540, and Boats (suitable for maritime emergency response and mobile businesses) starting from GHS 4,428.
Including taxes, Ghanaians will pay GHS 770 per month for the basic plan, with a one-time equipment cost of GHS 5,390.
This announcement follows the recent approval by the National Communications Authority (NCA) for Starlink to begin operations in Ghana, as part of efforts to improve internet connectivity across the country.
In a statement dated August 22, 2024, the NCA confirmed that Starlink will officially launch its services in Ghana by the end of August, after successfully completing all necessary administrative and licensing procedures with the Authority
