TDC holds 5th Annual General Meeting to review 2020–2024 performance
Tema Development Company (TDC) Ghana Limited has held its 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) to review the company’s performance for the 2024 financial year and assess progress made over the 2020–2024 period.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from various ministries, members of the board of directors, management, and other distinguished guests.
The AGM aimed at reflecting on the company’s financial and operational performance over the past five years, while also mapping out strategies to address challenges and position the company for sustainable growth in the years ahead.
Speaking at the meeting, the Board Chairman, Ashrai Odamtten, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema East, highlighted the company’s performance during the period under review and reaffirmed the board’s commitment to strong corporate governance.
He noted that the board remains dedicated to transparency, accountability, and integrity, in line with the guidelines of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) and the company’s statutory obligations.
According to him, the board focused significantly on strengthening oversight, risk management, and compliance throughout the year. He explained that the board and its committees — including Audit, Risk, Finance, and Governance — worked diligently to ensure that strategic, operational, and financial matters were closely monitored and aligned with TDC’s mandate.
Mr Odamtten added that internal audits and risk assessments were regularly reviewed to maintain effective control systems and mitigate both operational and financial risks. He further emphasised the company’s commitment to high ethical standards and corporate responsibility, alongside continuous capacity building for directors and senior management to keep pace with evolving best practices in the real estate and public sectors.
“I must say the board remains committed to enhancing governance, driving accountability, and creating sustainable value for the State and all stakeholders,” he stated. “We will continue to work closely with Management to ensure TDC delivers efficient, transparent, and impactful housing solutions.”
On his part, the Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, Courage Nunekpeku, announced a major transformation agenda aimed at positioning the company as a more efficient, technology-driven institution delivering affordable and sustainable housing for Ghanaians.
Speaking at the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Tema, Mr Nunekpeku said TDC is redefining its operations after more than 70 years of playing a central role in Ghana’s housing development.
According to him, the state-owned housing developer is expanding its service portfolio to improve customer experience and operational efficiency. The new services include premium services, courier services, a 24-hour call centre, and a business centre, all designed to modernise service delivery and respond to evolving customer needs.
“TDC is transforming into a more efficient, tech-driven institution focused on delivering affordable, sustainable housing for Ghanaians,” Mr Nunekpeku stated.
He noted that the company’s current strategy places strong emphasis on innovation and impactful developments, with affordable housing expansion identified as a key priority project.
Mr Nunekpeku revealed that TDC has received the necessary clearance from Municipal Finance and the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) for the affordable housing project and is currently at the award stage, paving the way for implementation.
He expressed confidence that the new initiatives would strengthen TDC’s contribution to Ghana’s housing agenda while improving accessibility and service delivery for customers.
