Trade Minister visits MND Metals
The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has undertaken a working visit to MND Metals Company Limited in the Tema Free Zones Enclave as part of efforts to strengthen engagement with key players in Ghana’s industrial sector.
The visit, which took place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, aimed to provide the Minister with first-hand insight into the company’s operations, while also identifying challenges within the sector and assessing alignment with the government’s industrialisation agenda.
During a tour of the facility, the Minister reiterated government’s commitment to promoting value addition, particularly within the metals industry.
She explained that the ban on the export of non-ferrous metals is intended to ensure that raw materials are processed locally to create jobs and support economic growth.
According to her, the policy forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen local industries and drive sustainable industrial development.
Chief Executive Officer of MND Metals Company Limited, Nidal Nasseredine, welcomed the Minister’s visit and commended government for the initiative.
He noted that the policy has enabled the company to secure sufficient raw materials to sustain and expand its operations.
He also described the visit as a strong indication of government’s commitment to supporting industrial growth and fostering a conducive business environment in Ghana.
