Traders' Advocacy Group Ghana (TAGG) and Importers and Exporters have called on the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gold Board (Goldbod) to remain resolute in its efforts to help sustain the recent appreciation of the Ghanaian Cedi against the US dollar and other major international currencies.

The appeal was made during a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of Goldbod, Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, to formally congratulate him on his appointment.

Speaking on behalf of the Association, Executive Secretary Mr. Samson Asaki Awingobit lauded Mr. Gyamfi’s appointment, describing it as a reflection of his competence, leadership, and experience within the sector.

TAGG President, Kwadwo Amoateng expressed confidence that Goldbod, under Mr. Gyamfi’s leadership, will accelerate its initiatives aimed at strengthening the local currency and stabilising the broader economy through strategic gold-backed interventions.

In his remarks, Mr. Gyamfi expressed gratitude for the Association’s visit and pledged Goldbod’s unwavering commitment to bolstering the Cedi through sound economic strategies.

He emphasised that the Board’s ongoing operations and planned interventions will play a key role in reinforcing Ghana’s macroeconomic stability.

He assured stakeholders that Goldbod would continue working closely with key partners across sectors to deliver on its mandate and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s economic recovery
