You’ve up to Jan 31 to link your accounts with Ghana card – Telecom Chamber to Momo agents

Electronic Money Issuers (EMIs) nationwide have until the close of business on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, to coordinate with agents to link their accounts with either the Ghana Card or Tax Identification Number (TIN), failing which their SIM cards will be deactivated.
This directive was communicated by the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications in a statement dated January 30, 2024, following extensive consultations with the leadership of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
In the announcement made on Tuesday, January 30, the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications emphasised that "All agent accounts lacking Ghana Cards will be deactivated as of February 1, 2024."
The Chamber affirmed that affected agents had been duly notified of this initiative through various communication channels.
In a final appeal to agents, the Chamber urged them to promptly regularise their operations by linking their accounts with their Ghana Cards or TIN before the specified deadline. Failure to comply by the end of Wednesday, January 31, 2024, will result in the deactivation of their accounts.
