C. Ronaldo clocks historic 1 billion followers on socials

Cristiano Ronaldo has amassed a staggering 1 billion followers across his social media channels.
The football icon indicated this via his X. He revealed his family and his fans were at the centre of his drive for excellence, and thanked them. He noted in spite of all that has been achieved in his illustrous career, there was more history to be made "together".
"We’ve made history — 1 BILLION followers! This is more than just a number - it’s a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond.
"From the streets of Madeira to the biggest stages in the world, I’ve always played for my family and for you, and now 1 billion of us stand together.
"You’ve been with me every step of the way, through all the highs and the lows. This journey is our journey, and together, we’ve shown that there are no limits to what we can achieve.
"Thank you for believing in me, for your support, and for being part of my life. The best is yet to come, and we’ll keep pushing, winning, and making history together," the man nicknamed CR7 wrote.
The image he attached to the above bore the words: "1 billion. Thank you all. A billion dreams, one journey."
Upon uploading his first video on August 21, 2024, the Portuguese's YouTube channel achieved 1 million subscribers, happening in just an hour and a half - the fastest ever on the platform. The latest of his social media channels, UR · Cristiano has more than 60 million subscribers.
1 billion followers is the biggest any human has ever accumulated on social media.
