Michael Adangba survives life threatening accident
Renowned Ghanaian highlife musician Michael Adangba has survived a serious road accident that left his vehicle extensively damaged and sparked concern among fans and the general public.
The accident reportedly occurred late on Thursday evening, December 18, 2025, while the veteran musician was driving. Photos shared by Adangba on his TikTok page showed the aftermath of the crash, with his silver 2023 Kia Optima (also known as Kia K5), bearing registration number GT 106-23, badly wrecked and appearing beyond repair.
Images from the scene revealed severe damage to the front of the vehicle, including the bonnet, bumper, and headlights.
Fluids from the car were seen spilling onto the road as passersby gathered around the accident site.
Despite the extent of the damage, Michael Adangba confirmed that he survived the crash, though he admitted his condition was worrying. “I am still alive but not too good,” he wrote, raising alarm about the severity of the injuries he sustained.
In a subsequent post, the highlife icon appealed to Ghanaians to remember him in their prayers as he undergoes recovery from the injuries caused by the accident.
Michael Adangba is a respected figure in Ghana’s music industry, particularly in the highlife genre.
He is widely known for his popular song “Banga Wegoo,” which was used as the official soundtrack for TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant.
In 2012, he also composed “Taka Tika,” the campaign song for President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the general elections.
Fans and well-wishers across the country have since taken to social media to express relief over his survival and to wish him a speedy recovery.
