Ghana Tourism Authority reopens Nationalism Park to boost tourism sector
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has reopened the Nationalism Park in Accra, marking a renewed effort to strengthen Ghana's tourism sector.
The park, inaugurated by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in December 2024, is expected to enhance the country's capacity to host large-scale cultural and heritage events.
GTA Deputy Chief Executive, Ben Annang Nsiah, described the park as a symbol of Ghana's identity, resilience, and shared memory.
"Reopening this park sends a clear message that our heritage and history matter, and that nation-building remains a conscious responsibility," he said.
Nsiah highlighted tourism's growing relevance to national development, economic growth, and cultural diplomacy, noting its role in projecting Ghana's image globally.
He emphasised the importance of collaboration, saying, "Tourism thrives on shared responsibility, strategic partnerships, and disciplined execution."
The GTA aims to position Ghana as a hub for culture, entertainment, and tourism, with a focus on protecting and activating heritage assets, deepening stakeholder collaboration, and strengthening competitiveness
