CMG’s NextStarz Reality Show set to revolutionise Ghana’s talent landscape

The Ghanaian entertainment scene is set for a major shake-up with the official digital launch of the Class Media Group’s (CMG) NextStarz Reality Show – Season 1, a high-energy music and performance-based competition aimed at unearthing Ghana’s next big stars.
The initiative is a collaborative effort between Suede Entertainment and Class Media Group (CMG), and was officially introduced today across all CMG platforms.
The digital launch, which spanned 9 CMG radio stations, CTV, Classfmonline.com, various blogging sites, and social media platforms, marked the beginning of a nationwide promotional campaign that will run until the grand finale on December 7, 2025.
NextStarz is open to Ghanaians between the ages of 18 and 45, providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for vocalists, rappers, and dancehall performers to showcase their talent.
Over the course of 13 action-packed episodes, 21 selected contestants will be mentored, trained, and judged by some of Ghana’s finest entertainment experts, culminating in one being crowned “The Next Big Star”.
What sets NextStarz apart is its audience-driven format. Viewers will have a 70% say in the weekly results, with the remaining 30% coming from a panel of respected judges.
A unique twist is the “Golden Card”, which the mysterious Super Judge can use to save a contestant from elimination.
The grand prize includes a comprehensive GHC 300,000 package, featuring a record deal, professional music video production, media airplay, and high-level industry exposure.
To ensure maximum visibility, the project has released a robust media kit that includes:
• English and Twi LPM scripts for presenters
• Audio jingles in English, Twi and other languages
• A catchy theme song titled “Shine Like A Star”
• A NextStarz logo animation and behind-the-scene footages
• Promotional fliers and write-ups for interviews, blogs, and social media
These assets are being distributed across all CMG outlets, Suede Entertainment platforms, and the official NextStarz media channels.
Auditions will take place from August 8 to 17, 2025 at the CMG Headquarters in Labone, Accra.
Registration is already underway and can be done online via www.thenextstarz.com/register or offline at any CMG radio station nationwide.
Online Registration involves a GHS 100 non-refundable fee paid via Paystack, while offline registration allows payment via cash or MTN MoMo (0598943939). Offline applicants must ensure forms are officially stamped and signed by the issuing channel head.
Following auditions, selected contestants will undergo orientation, health screening, and bonding activities before entering the competition house. The official launch show is slated for August 29, where contestants will be outdoored, and the full program calendar announced.
The first episode airs on CTV at 8 PM on Sunday, September 7, and will run weekly until the Grand Finale on December 7, which will be a ticketed event.
