Crackdown on illegal immigrants: 'If you live in the US, you'll understand Trump' – Opanka

“Donald Trump is not as troublesome as some think,” rapper Opanka has said.
The US-based Ghanaian sat with Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, during which time he opined US President Trump basically “wants to know the people in the country”.
He said Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigrants and mass deportation, which has become controversial, was to control crime.
“Assuming someone comes into the country and is undocumented, if they commit a crime, how would the authorities find such a person?” Opanka asked to stressed his point.
The Hiplife star intimated the illegal immigration crisis in the USA was exacerbated by undocumented people who came into the Western country not by air with visas but mostly by land.
“If you live in the US, you’ll understand Trump. He is helping the country. He is only giving illegal immigrants a hard time,” the singer emphasised.
“But if you’re documented, he doesn’t have a problem with you. He is focused mainly on criminals and bad actors. A lot of the people who have been deported are on a wanted list.”
To conclude, Opanka urged his audience to be wary of misinformation on the internet and verify before they spread something.
Opanka's new release is called People.
