Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel champions support for Hollywood writers' strike
Fast and Furious actor Vin Diesel has shared his support for the Hollywood writers' strike.
The 55-year-old actor was seen alongside his Fast-X co-stars at a fundraiser at Universal Studios Hollywood for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project.
When questioned about the impact the writers' strike might have on the next movies in the franchise, Diesel said it was "important" to support the writers during this time.
He said: "I think we're entering a very interesting age where we're going to have to consider things like AI, and sooner or later we're going to have to ask those questions."
The star also said It was a "step forward" to progress in the industry.
"And I think putting the writers' debate on the table is a step forward for all of us in every occupation to start anticipating or figuring out how we're all going to adopt this new norm and this new technology," he said.
So far, the strikes have affected many TV shows and films, including Stranger Things, Yellowjackets and The Handmaid's Tale.
The Union are asking for higher pay, more writers per show and less exclusivity on single projects, among other demands.
The writers' strike has seen much support from stars across the entertainment industry.
Earlier this week, Tom Hanks also voiced his support for the cause and said the industry was at "an evolutionary crossroads."
Actress Patricia Arquette told Sky News she loved "the writers and I understand what they're fighting for."
