'GINA' album is to honour my mother, celebrate my progress so far – Amerado

Amerado has revealed the inspiration behind his debut album GINA.
According to the 2022 3Music Rapper of the Year, the album title is an acronym which means: "God Is Never Asleep," and it was inspired by "my mom's name, Georgina."
Beyond that, "I've been doing this music for a long time, it's quite unfortunate my father is not here to see how far I'm progressing but I feel, if my mom, on the other hand, is alive I have to do something to honour her before, maybe she is no more. I did this album to honour her."
Also, "this album is to tell people that this is the boy who was struggling way back trying to get the audience and if I am here by the grace of God, there is nothing wrong with telling people how great God is. My God is never asleep and he's always going to be there for me."
The 37-minute-long GINA long play (LP) features star artistes like Fameye, Efya, Lasmid, Eno Barony and Epixode. The 10-track album was released on Tuesday, 25 October 2022.
Born Derrick Sarfo Kantanka and professionally called Amerado the Mic Burner, the Ghanaian artiste was guesting on CTV's Time with the Stars, hosted by Larry Bozzle, on Monday 21 November.
