Ghana Tourism Authority, NSA leverages sports tourism ahead of Black Stars’ clash with Chad

In a strategic move to harness the potential of sports tourism, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the National Sports Authority (NSA) have initiated discussions on promoting Ghana’s cultural identity, hospitality, and tourist attractions through football.
The engagement, led by the Acting Director-General of the NSA, Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, and his team, saw the participation of Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, who represented the Chief Executive Officer of the GTA.
With the global appeal of football, the partnership seeks to position Ghana as a premier sports tourism destination, attracting both local and international visitors.
The collaboration comes ahead of the Black Stars’ crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier against Les Aigles of Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
The highly anticipated match is expected to bring football enthusiasts from across the country, providing an opportunity to highlight Ghana’s tourism potential.
Officials believe that by integrating sports and tourism, Ghana can boost its economy, enhance international visibility, and create new opportunities for growth in both sectors
