‘I’m not a crossdresser; I don’t wear female clothing’ – Nana Tornado asserts, explains how he handles gays

“There are a lot of girls who like feminine guys but people don’t know,” Actor Nana Tornado has asserted.
He spoke to Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo, revealing he constantly had female suitors despite his feminine looks and mannerisms.
“There are men who also like women who dress like men,” he added.
“It’s just that we haven’t learned. People don’t know. I have travelled extensively to know this.”
Nana Tornado challenged the assertion he was a crossdresser, revealing what he was inspired by.
“I’m not a crossdresser. I don’t wear female clothing,” he said.
“My fashion sense is from the American fashionistas, and not women. It’s male clothing I wear.”
The comic disclosed he was “constantly” sexually approached by men “when I was young and a waiter in Dubai – they are many there. If you don’t know, you don’t. I didn’t know till I was in that town. The placed is mixed [cosmopolitan]. There were different kinds of people including Egyptians.
“I’ve hustled for long. I started in South Africa and then to Dubai.”
Nana Tornado said, as a general rule, out of curiosity and to understand the backgrounds of people, “I play along” anytime he was approached by anyone on any issue.
“I play along sometimes [with the gay people]. I play along. I don’t anyone to feel bad. And because I look feminine, if I even say I’m not like that, they won’t believe me. I won’t engage on a back and forth with you. I’d perhaps say you’re not my type, and that’s it,” he further explained.
The US-based Ghanaian said many of his friends in America were gay, and so he would not pretend not to know or dislike someone over their sexual orientation.
He said it was Ghana’s choice to whether the country would criminalise belonging to and promoting the LGBTQIA+ community or otherwise.
