One year after the death of Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba, his family has, for the first time, unveiled his final resting place, giving the public a glimpse into the mausoleum where the celebrated musician was laid to rest.

The unveiling took place on Sunday, July 26, during a private remembrance ceremony at the late musician's East Legon residence in Accra to mark the first anniversary of his passing.

The mausoleum houses a black tomb adorned with photographs, wreaths and personal tributes in honour of the music icon. 

It is also lined with Daddy Lumba's numerous awards, plaques and memorabilia, reflecting a remarkable career that spanned nearly four decades and produced more than 30 albums.

The unveiling also confirms long-standing reports that the legendary musician, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, was buried in the compound of his East Legon home following his death.

Daddy Lumba died on July 26, 2025, at the age of 60 after a brief illness at The Bank Hospital in Accra. 

His passing triggered an outpouring of grief across Ghana and beyond, with fans, musicians and public figures paying tribute to one of the Ghana’s most influential artistes.
