New year's clebration of African fashion +style creatives

On January 2nd, Debonair Afrik began 2022 with its annual New Year event, The Editor’s Meets Brunch under the theme, “In Time of Luxe”.
What started off years ago as a conversation among African fashion stakeholders has now emerged as one of the continent’s leading fashion events and an annual celebration of African fashion, style influencers and, creatives.
The 2022 edition featured fabulous fashion, a brunch buffet, GH Mumm champagne bar, Inverroche gin cocktail bar, fireworks, and live performances by DJ Lissa Monet, The Wanted Band, Ria Boss, and Titi Owusu.
In addition to being a social networking soiree for some of Africa’s most stylish personalities including Mawuli Gavor, Selly Galley, Brommon, Julee, and Elikem Kumodzie, a highlight of the event was the panel discussion: Style, Story, and Identity: Fashion’s role in communicating the multi-textured fabric of Africa with British Sudanese ambassador, advocate and champion of the arts in social change, youth development, and fashion, Rozan Ahmed; and Nigerian-American stylist, content creator and a freelance style, travel and culture editor, Alexander-Julian Gibbson.
It was moderated by Fife Osikanlu, the co-founder/Principal Partner at Eden Venture Group and a multitalented disruptor and social impact architect committed to empowering young people, women, and entrepreneurs in the creative sector.
“Every year, I am filled with pride by the achievements young African creatives are making around the world. The Editor’s Brunch is our moment to celebrate and recognize one another and inspire us for a new year of success, breaking boundaries and bringing African style to the world on our own terms and in our own voice,” said Editor In Chief and Founder of Debonair Afrik, Emmanuel Ekuban, also known as Nuel Bans during the closing toast amidst fireworks surrounded by the Debonair Afrik team.
The TEM Brunch was produced by Debonair Afrik Studios and hosted by media personality Vanessa Gyan.
