Prophet Prince Osei, the former husband of award-winning gospel musician Empress Gifty, has broken his silence on the real reason behind the collapse of their once-widely admired marriage.

In an emotional video shared on his Instagram page on December 2, 2025, the prophet revealed that poor communication, rather than spiritual weakness or unfaithfulness, was the main factor that led to the breakdown of their relationship. According to him, love, prayer, and faithfulness alone are not enough to sustain a marriage if meaningful conversations are missing.

“If I had mastered proper communication earlier, our marriage might have survived,” he admitted.

“Prayer and faithfulness are important, but communication is the key to understanding one another.

Even intimacy depends on honest and open conversation.”

Recalling how their love story began, Prophet Osei revealed that he first met Empress Gifty when she was working as a seamstress at Tema Community 1.

He said it was her brother who introduced her to him and encouraged her to attend his church.

He also said he recognised her musical talent from the start and strongly believed she was destined for greatness in the gospel music industry.

“I saw the gift in her early. I knew God had placed something powerful in her life, and I supported her dream,” he noted.

His revelation comes shortly after Empress Gifty addressed their highly publicised split, stating that despite the pain and turbulence surrounding their breakup, she deliberately chose not to disgrace or publicly shame her former husband.

The former couple’s marriage, which once drew admiration from fans within both the church and entertainment circles, eventually ended amid widespread speculation.

However, Prophet Osei’s recent confession has brought a new perspective to the story, shifting the narrative from blame to reflection and personal growth.
