Rich, upright people smoke including your ‘favourite artiste’ but I’ve quit – Kelvynboy confronts cannabis stereotyping

Kelvynboy has attempted to disabuse people of the "misconception" that smokers are "dirty and rowdy".
Allowing that, perhaps, this was the case in yesteryear, he intimated, also, times have changed.
The Highlife star revealed he knows some of the most affluent and upright people in society who smoke.
In fact, prominent musicians in Ghana smoke, he doubled down, offering no names, however.
Kelvynboy did not clarify if he was speaking about tobacco or marijuana or both, but he startled social media users even further when he declared he had "quit" smoking.
He also took the opportunity to advice people against using "drugs," perhaps, hinting at the practice he had eschewed.
"MISCONCEPTION: Smokers are dirty and rowdy… Maybe then but I know some of the richest and cleanest of humans who are heavy smokers. Dead that thought today! Your favorite artiste smokes for crying out loud. But I’ve quit. Don’t do drugs, guys," Kelvynboy wrote on X, January 30, 2024.
In subsequent X posts, the singer-songwriter asked the public to express the same enthusiasm as they had given the above post, when his next song is released.
In the upcoming single, he hinted at telling a personal but secret story that exasperates him.
Meanwhile, in a 2022 Hitz FM interview, Kelvynboy asserted "if I don’t smoke, I will go mad".
“That’s what calms me down,” he explained, noting he smokes "every time".
Indicating the substance he smokes, he named Bob Marley as an inspiration.
Kelvnboy said: “I’ve learnt a lot from Bob Marley but he used to have it in his hand every time because he was real.”
The Reggae icon Marley was a popular user of marijuana, which in Rastafari is revered as a divine plant for consumption and worship.
