Shatta Wale speaks out on privacy and respect for Ghanaian women
Ghanaian dancehall star, Shatta Wale, has weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding the circulation of private videos, stressing that recording individuals without their consent is a criminal act.
In posts shared on his X page , the musician urged the public to shift attention from criticising the women to addressing the illegality of secretly filming and sharing intimate content.
He maintained that consent and respect should be at the centre of the conversation.
The artist also condemned attempts to label Ghanaian women as “cheap,” describing such remarks as unfair and hypocritical. According to him, many of the same individuals making those claims often engage in similar behaviour, particularly when interacting with foreigners.
“Nobody should say Ghanaian women are cheap. It’s disrespectful because most of you boys here do the same or even worse when you see white men/foreigners.
Get out with your hypocritical talks,” he added.
