Heavy flooding has submerged the Caprice stretch from Alajo through Avenor to Circle in Accra, leaving major roads impassable and raising serious safety concerns.

Two fuel stations along the flooded stretch have been inundated, with fuel reportedly leaking into the floodwaters.

A strong smell of petrol has been reported across the area, while fuel is visible on parts of the floodwater, raising concerns about the risk of fire and environmental contamination.

Authorities have urged motorists and residents to avoid the affected areas and exercise extreme caution.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has confirmed that three bodies have been recovered from a house at Alajo following a suspected electrocution during Monday's flooding.

The victims, believed to be in their mid-twenties to early thirties, reportedly suffered electric shock while attempting to retrieve their belongings from floodwaters that had entered their home.

Residents said the flooding left many households stranded, forcing some occupants to wade through the water in an effort to salvage personal belongings before the incident occurred.

The fatalities occurred during Monday's heavy rainfall, which triggered widespread flooding across several parts of Accra.

Alajo and Caprice remain among the worst-affected communities as emergency responders continue rescue and assessment operations.

Authorities are yet to provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the suspected electrocution or the full extent of damage caused by the flooding.
