The Ghana School of Law has postponed the commencement of examinations scheduled for Monday, June 29, following heavy rains and widespread flooding that disrupted movement across parts of Accra.

In a notice issued to students, management said the decision was reached after monitoring weather conditions for about two hours and consulting the Chair of the Independent Examinations Committee (IEC).

The school said the safety of students remains its foremost concern, stressing that no one should attempt to travel through floodwaters or hazardous road conditions to sit for the examinations.

Management also assured students that those unable to report to the examination centre because of the adverse weather would not suffer any academic disadvantage.

According to the statement, the examinations will only begin when conditions are considered safe for students to travel.

If the examinations are held later in the day, the school said sufficient time would be allowed after the rains subside to enable candidates to reach the examination centre without risking their safety.

Students have been advised to monitor their official email accounts, text messages, WhatsApp platforms, the school's website and social media pages for updates on the revised examination timetable.

The announcement follows hours of heavy rainfall that began overnight and continued into Monday morning, causing extensive flooding across several parts of Accra. The floods submerged major roads, disrupted traffic and prompted authorities to advise residents to avoid unnecessary travel and remain in safe locations where possible.
