Davido says family now comes first as lifestyle changes after marriage
Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opened up about how marriage has changed his priorities and lifestyle.
Speaking during a recent episode of The Long Form Podcast, the award-winning singer shared that he now values family time more than nightlife and partying. According to him, he would rather stay home with his wife, Chioma, or spend time talking to her on FaceTime while traveling than go out to clubs for fun.
Reflecting on his younger years, Davido admitted he used to live a carefree and reckless lifestyle.
“Growing up with fame, money, and freedom at a young age, I used to go out a lot. I was in the club almost every day,” he said.
However, he explained that things have changed significantly. During a recent two-month stay in Nigeria, he barely stepped out for social activities. Instead, he chose to relax at home, spend time in his studio, and host small gatherings with friends.
“I was mostly at home, just chilling and having fun. Sometimes I’d invite people over to barbecue. After that, I’d simply go home and call my wife before going to sleep,” he added.
Despite his new routine, Davido noted that he still attends events when necessary, especially for work-related performances or special invitations from close friends.
The singer emphasised that rest and quality time with family now take priority over late-night outings, marking a major shift from his earlier lifestyle.
