FDA arrests Mama Gee for selling unregistered ‘sex’ drugs

News
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) with the assistance of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday, 10 July 2019 caused the arrest of Ms Elizabeth Torgbor, popularly known as Mama Gee in Accra for selling unregistered sex drugs.

The FDA said its attention was drawn to the sale of the sex drugs by some social media users.

Mama Gee claims in her videos on social media that her drugs can make one’s partner crave for more sex.

The FDA, in a statement, cautioned the public to stay away from Mama Gee’s product because her claims are unsubstantiated.

“The FDA wishes to advise the general public not to patronise such products from Mama Gee since it has not been approved by the authority and the claims cannot be substantiated.”

The authority called on the public to assist the FDA with any other additional and relevant information on the illegal operations of Mama Gee.

A few weeks ago, the FDA, in a similar move, caused the arrest of gospel musician Brother Sammy, who, in a similar fashion, claimed to have drugs that cured all sorts of sickness including cancer and HIV/AIDS.
