“You Are a Destiny Changer” — Beneficiary’s story moves audience at Dr Adutwum thanksgiving event
An emotional moment unfolded on Sunday when a young beneficiary of Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum’s educational support programme publicly recounted how her life was transformed through the initiative, drawing tears and applause from the audience.
Speaking at a Thanksgiving programme organised for more than 90 beneficiaries of the scheme, Jenifer Ama Dankwah described how she once made a personal vow never to remain confined to village life, no matter the challenges. With limited opportunities around her, she said she committed her future into God’s hands, praying for what she called a “destiny changer” in her educational journey.
According to Jenifer, that turning point came when Dr. Adutwum intervened through his foundation.

A beneficiary of the programme that sponsors 150 students in critical fields such as engineering and medicine, Jenifer shared her story with visible emotion, struggling to hold back tears as she expressed gratitude to both God and Dr. Adutwum.
She revealed that after completing the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), where she studied Geological Engineering, she is now employed full-time at AngloGold Ashanti as a Graduate Trainee in the Geological Department a milestone she said once felt far beyond her reach.
Her testimony resonated strongly with the audience and mirrored the experiences of many others who have benefited from the initiative. The 150 young men and women selected from communities within the Bosomtwe Constituency stand as living examples of how targeted educational support can change lives.

Dr. Adutwum, a former Minister of Education and an aspiring flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to replicate the programme across all constituencies in the country should he be given the opportunity to lead the party. He has positioned the initiative as part of a broader vision to fight poverty by equipping young people with relevant skills to compete in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
In a show of appreciation, several beneficiaries at the event openly pledged their support for Dr. Adutwum’s flagbearer ambition, expressing hope that the programme would be expanded to reach more young people who lack financial backing but possess the potential to excel.
For Jenifer Ama Dankwah and many like her, the programme represents more than financial assistance it is the bridge between aspiration and opportunity, and, as she simply put it, proof that destiny can indeed be changed.
