GA/R: Danfa, Kweiman Amrahia Chiefs deny involvement in Amrahia Dairy Farm demolition

The chiefs of Danfa, Kweiman, and Amrahia in the Greater Accra Region have firmly denied any involvement in a demolition exercise that took place on the Amrahia Dairy Farm lands on Thursday, distancing themselves from what they describe as a deliberate attempt to tarnish their reputations.
In a joint statement, the chiefs stated they have been wrongly accused of orchestrating the demolition, insisting they had no prior knowledge of the activity.
According to them, their own investigations have identified an individual from the Agbawe family in Oyarifa as the alleged mastermind behind the demolition, reportedly acting with the support of the Adenta Police Commander.
The disputed land forms part of the government-acquired Amrahia Dairy Farm lands, which have remained unused for years. The chiefs explained that a government audit of the lands is currently underway, and they have been engaged in long-standing efforts to have the lands returned to them as the rightful custodians.
They believe the demolition was a calculated move to discredit them before the government and derail the process of land restitution.
Spokesperson for the chiefs, Nii Djanie Klu, expressed concern over the impact of the incident on their credibility, emphasising that the timing and nature of the demolition appear to be politically motivated.
Adding to the statement, Nii Djanie Tsuru Afutu Brempong IV, Chief of Danfa, accused the Oyarifa-based Agbawe family, whom he says have no legitimate claim to the land—of attempting to obstruct the government's effort to return the property to its rightful owners.
The chiefs have called for a thorough investigation into the demolition and urged the government to remain focused on completing the audit and returning the lands to the traditional authorities.
