Mr Simon Madjie, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), has underscored the Centre’s commitment to transforming the investment landscape of the Volta and Oti Regions through targeted engagement and collaboration. Speaking ahead of the upcoming Regional Investment Roadshows scheduled for October 27–31, 2025, Mr Madjie said the initiative aims to connect government, local authorities, and the private sector to convert regional potential into viable investment ventures. He made the remarks during a consultative meeting between the GIPC Board, led by its Chairman, Mr Akwasi Opong-Fosu, and Members of Parliament from the Volta and Oti Regions. The engagement forms part of GIPC’s Investment Opportunity Mapping Project, which seeks to identify and document business opportunities across all 261 districts to attract both domestic and foreign investment. Mr Madjie explained that the roadshows will feature courtesy calls on traditional authorities, media engagements, project site visits, stakeholder forums, and investment exhibitions at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho and the Bosatsu Hotel in Dambai. He further highlighted ongoing government plans to enhance infrastructure within the Volta Region, including the proposed conversion of the Ho Airport into an aviation training school—an initiative expected to promote tourism, skills development, and job creation. The Volta Region MPs’ Caucus Chair, Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, and the Oti Region MPs’ Caucus Chair, Mr John Kwabena Oti Bless, commended the GIPC for the initiative, pledging the support of Parliament in unlocking the economic potential of their respective regions, particularly in agriculture, agro-processing, and tourism. The Volta and Oti Regional Investment Roadshows form part of GIPC’s broader agenda to promote balanced regional development and reinforce Ghana’s position as a leading destination for sustainable investment.
