Ga Mantse joins Asantehene at police headquarters to strengthen traditional–police collaboration
The Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, joined the Ghana Police Service at the Police Headquarters in Accra to host the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during his historic visit to the institution.
The engagement brought together traditional leadership and the police hierarchy in a symbolic show of unity and cooperation aimed at strengthening peace, security, and national cohesion.
The meeting highlighted the importance of closer collaboration between traditional authorities and the Ghana Police Service, particularly in community policing and conflict prevention.
Discussions also focused on the need for enhanced cultural awareness and traditional knowledge training for police officers to improve their engagement with communities across the country.
Additionally, the interaction reinforced calls for political neutrality in policing, with traditional leaders stressing the importance of professionalism and impartiality in the maintenance of law and order.
The presence of the Ga Mantse alongside the Asantehene underscored the shared commitment of traditional leaders to supporting national security efforts and fostering mutual respect between state institutions and customary authorities.
