Ghana Water Limited announces shutdown of Aframso Water Treatment Plant
Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced the temporary shutdown of the Aframso Water Treatment Plant due to a burst on the DN 500mm HDPE transmission pipeline conveying treated water to the Kumawu district in the Ashanti Region.
According to a press release issued by GWL, the affected areas include Kumawu, Bodomasi, Beboro, Woraso, and their surrounding communities.
The company's engineers are working diligently to resolve the issue and restore water production as soon as possible.
GWL management has apologised for any inconvenience this may cause and assured customers that efforts are underway to restore the water supply as soon as the work is completed.
The shutdown highlights the challenges faced by GWL in maintaining the water infrastructure in the region.
The company is working to resolve the issue and minimise the impact on the affected communities.
