Ghana’s Lands Minister arrives in Brazil for COP30 Leadership Summit
Ghana’s Ambassador to Brazil, Nii Amassah Namoale, warmly received the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, at the Belém International Airport in the early hours of Wednesday, ahead of the COP30 Leadership Summit.
Mr Buah, who arrived at 2:30 a.m. local time, is in Brazil to represent President John Dramani Mahama at the high-level global climate conference.
The summit, which brings together world leaders, policymakers, and climate advocates, aims to accelerate international cooperation on sustainable energy transitions and climate resilience.
Upon arrival, Ambassador Namoale briefed Mr Buah on key agenda items and Ghana’s expected engagements at the conference.
He expressed optimism that Ghana’s participation would further strengthen its reputation as a leader in renewable energy and climate action in Africa.
Mr Buah is expected to deliver a statement on behalf of President Mahama, highlighting Ghana’s renewed commitment to clean energy investment, carbon reduction, and sustainable economic growth under the 24-Hour Economy framework.
The COP30 Leadership Summit, taking place in Belém, the capital of Brazil’s Pará State, will run for several days, featuring discussions on global energy policies, financing for green projects, and partnerships to support developing countries in tackling climate change.
