Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has urged Ghanaians to draw lasting lessons from the country's 2022 economic crisis, stressing that such a downturn should never be repeated.

Presenting the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review, Dr Forson said the nation must remain committed to prudent economic management to safeguard future generations.

"We must internalise the true cost of economic mismanagement and commit ourselves to sound economic stewardship as a nation," he said.

According to the Finance Minister, the 2022 crisis serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of poor economic decisions, insisting that "Ghana must never be brought this low again."

He maintained that the government remains focused on implementing disciplined fiscal policies to preserve macroeconomic stability and prevent a repeat of the economic hardships experienced during that period.
