Minority Caucus donates GHS 200,000 to victims of Adum Blue Light market fire

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has extended a helping hand to victims of the recent fire outbreak at the Adum Blue Light Market in Kumasi, donating GHS 200,000 to support affected traders.
The donation was presented during a brief ceremony in Kumasi, where Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin expressed heartfelt sympathy to the traders who lost their goods and livelihoods in the devastating blaze.
Mr Afenyo-Markin called on the government to step in with additional support, just as it had done in past instances of disaster.
He specifically recommended that funds from the Contingency Fund be utilized to provide immediate relief to the victims and help them recover.
“The government must show the same level of urgency and compassion as it has in other similar tragedies,” he emphasized.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the affected traders, Mr. Joseph Bobie Ansah, Chairman of the market traders, thanked the Minority Caucus for their timely intervention and solidarity during this challenging period.
“We are deeply grateful for this support.
It will go a long way to ease the burden on our members who have lost everything,” Mr. Ansah said.
The gesture by the Minority Caucus has been widely welcomed as a show of unity and concern for ordinary Ghanaians in times of crisis.
