The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) used this year’s Oguaa Fetu Afahye celebration as a platform to intensify public education on the safe use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and the implementation of the Cylinder Recirculation Model (CRM).

Amid the colourful cultural displays and festivities, the management and staff of the Authority engaged festivalgoers with demonstrations and safety tips aimed at preventing domestic accidents linked to LPG usage.

The NPA explained that the Cylinder Recirculation Model—designed to enhance safety and efficiency—will ensure that consumers receive cylinders that are properly filled, maintained, and safe for use.

Officials emphasised that public awareness remains crucial to reducing household accidents and boosting confidence in LPG adoption, particularly as Ghana seeks to expand clean energy access for cooking.

The exercise formed part of the Authority’s broader commitment to safety, consumer protection, and energy sustainability, while also aligning with government efforts to promote cleaner cooking fuels nationwide.
