PRINPAG announces July 14 for opening of nominations for executive elections

The Election Committee of the Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has officially released the roadmap for the Association’s upcoming 2025 executive elections, promising a transparent, fair, and accountable process in line with the organisation’s constitution.
In a statement signed by Lawyer Kenneth Agyei Kuranchie, Election Administrator, and supported by other committee members, the Committee announced that nominations for all elective positions will open on Monday, July 14, 2025, and close on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
Per Article 17.0 of the PRINPAG Constitution, both candidates and voters must be members in good standing as of July 14. Members with outstanding dues are required to settle payments by July 31, 2025, to qualify to vote.
The following five executive positions are up for election:
President
Vice President
Organizing Secretary
Public Affairs and External Relations Officer
Financial Secretary
All nominated candidates are required to undergo a mandatory vetting session scheduled for Friday, July 25, 2025.
The results of the vetting process will be made public on the same day.
Campaigning will officially begin on Saturday, July 26, 2025, and run until election day.
Candidates have been urged to maintain decorum and focus on issues during the campaign period.
A full register of eligible voters will be published on Monday, August 4, 2025. Members with concerns about the electoral process will have three days after results are announced to file petitions. The Election Committee has pledged to address all petitions within 24 hours, with its decisions deemed final and binding.The PRINPAG Election Committee reiterated its dedication to a credible and inclusive electoral process. Members were encouraged to participate actively and adhere strictly to the election guidelines.
