The Parliamentary Select Committee on Foreign Affairs today visited Ghana's Permanent Mission in New York, United States of America, as part of efforts to foster good working relations and familiarise themselves with the activities of Ghana missions abroad.

The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Ghana to the United Nations, Mr Harold A. Agyeman, took the opportunity to shed light on Ghana’s membership and performance on the United Nations Security Council and the work of the six committees of the UN General Assembly.

The meeting also afforded the members the opportunity to discuss issues pertaining to the welfare of the Ghanaian community in the tri-states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. 

The Committee led by the Acting Chairman Mr Johnson Kwaku Adu, Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South, also expressed satisfaction with the work of the Mission.

The committee members took turns to ask questions on various diplomatic and consular matters. 

Other committee members present were Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa- MP for North Tongu Constituency in the Volta Region, Mr James Agalga, MP for Builsa North Constituency, Mr Alhassan Abdullai Idi, MP for Salaga North and the Clerk to the Committee, Miss Anita Quartey- Papafi
