V/R: Fire reduces 3 shops in Ho to ashes
A serious fire outbreak has razed three shops in Ho-Ahoe, Ho, Volta Region.
The incident happened on Friday afternoon, January 10, 2025, the fire exacerbated by the harmattan wind.
One of the shops was made of wood. The others were an electrical and plastic ware shop, and a convenience shop stocked with packs of water and drinks.
During a visit to the scene, an eyewitness told Ho 92.5 FM the swift response and intervention by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) team prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent shops and houses in the area.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire was caused by a domestic incident in a nearby wooden kitchen, where someone left food on a coal fire unattended.
The kitchen also had stored local gin (akpeteshie), which may have contributed to the spread of the fire, they noted.
The incident, which caused a temporary halt in vehicular traffic along the stretch, left the affected business owners expressing hopelessness as they helplessly watched their investments, worth thousands of Ghana cedis burn to ashes.

The affected victims appealed to the government and other authorities to come to their aid to aid their bouncing back to business.
Meanwhile, ADO1 Isaac Gliku of the GNFS said they had commenced investigations into the cause of the fire.
