V/R: MP Eric Edem Agbana provides relief support to flood victims in Ketu North
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu North, Eric Edem Agbana, has extended support to residents affected by the recent floods that have devastated parts of the constituency, following a visit to some of the hardest-hit communities.
On his latest assessment tour, Mr Agbana visited Dzodze Bagome and Taso Lane to monitor the worsening flood situation and interact with affected families. The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to assess the extent of destruction caused by the heavy flooding across sections of the municipality.
According to the MP, the devastation witnessed in the affected communities was extensive, with several households suffering significant losses to property and livelihoods.
"The floods have hit our communities hard, and many families are going through extremely difficult times," he stated.
In response to the immediate needs of victims, the MP made a personal donation of food items, toiletries, and cash to provide temporary relief to some of the most affected households. The items will be distributed to victims through the Municipal Office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
While awaiting further intervention from NADMO and other relevant government agencies, the MP assured residents of his continued commitment to supporting affected families and advocating for additional assistance.
He emphasised that efforts would continue to ensure victims receive the necessary support to recover from the disaster and rebuild their lives.
He further called for solidarity among residents and stakeholders as the constituency works together to address the challenges posed by the flooding.
The recent floods have left several communities in Ketu North grappling with damaged homes, displaced families, and the loss of valuable possessions, prompting calls for urgent humanitarian support and long-term flood mitigation measures.
