V/R: One dead, five injured in fatal crash on Matse-Vane road

A fatal collision between an Isuzu pickup with registration number GS 3468-17 and a saloon car with registration number GE 1056-16 on the Matse-Vane road in the Volta Region has left one person dead and five others in critical condition.
The accident occurred on Thursday, August 14, 2025, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
Confirming the incident to Class News, the Ho Municipal Fire Commander, DOII Seth Tay, said his outfit received a distress call at 11:16 a.m. and arrived at the scene within eight minutes.
He noted that the saloon car driver died instantly, while the other victims sustained severe injuries.
“The victims have since been transported to the Ho Teaching Hospital for medical care, while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy and further investigations,” he stated.
DOII Tay used the occasion to caution motorists, particularly those driving at night, to exercise extreme care on the roads.
He stressed that passenger safety depends largely on drivers’ vigilance and responsible conduct both during the day and at night.
Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
