Western Regional Security Council consoles widow of helicopter crash victim
The Western Regional Security Council, led by its Chairman and Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, has paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the widow of Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, one of eight individuals who tragically lost their lives in last Wednesday’s helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofoum in the Ashanti Region.
Sergeant Mensah’s passing is particularly heartbreaking, as he had married his wife only a month earlier on July 5, 2025.
The delegation, which included top military and security officials, visited the bereaved family's home in Cape Coast.
Upon arrival at the Kofi and Ama residence, they were met with the sorrowful cries of grieving relatives.
The Methodist Bishop of the Cape Coast Diocese, Rt. Rev. Richardson Andem, received the delegation on behalf of the family. He recalled fond memories of Sergeant Mensah, noting that he had officiated the couple’s wedding just weeks before the tragedy.
Members of the Air Force Wives Organisation also joined the visit to show solidarity with the widow.
Sisiana Amoah, sister to the bereaved wife, expressed the family’s deep gratitude to Minister Nelson and his team for their compassion and support during this difficult time.
