V/R: Passengers stranded at Ho main lorry terminal amid vehicle shortage
Hundreds of passengers, including students, were left stranded at the Ho main lorry terminal on Thursday, 5 December as a severe shortage of vehicles disrupted travel plans.
Many passengers reported being at the terminal since early morning, hoping to travel to their respective regions and constituencies ahead of the December 7 general elections.
However, as of late afternoon, there were no vehicles available to convey them.
Frustrated travellers expressed their concerns over the situation.
Speaking to Ho FM, some lamented the unexpected delay, which they said could impact their ability to participate in the polls.
"I came here early in the morning to travel to my hometown to vote, but there are no cars available.
I've been waiting for hours, and it’s very frustrating," one passenger said.
The terminal authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but the situation underscores the transportation challenges faced by many voters as they try to reach their destinations in time for the elections.
Efforts are reportedly underway to resolve the issue and ensure passengers are able to travel as planned.
Meanwhile, passengers have called on the relevant authorities to intervene to prevent further delays.
